Day 1: Arrival in Surabaya – Transfer to Bromo Highlands (D)

Arrive at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java. Meet your guide and begin the scenic drive to Cemoro Lawang, a village perched on the edge of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Along the way, pass through lush countryside, rice fields, and traditional Javanese villages. Upon arrival, check in to your mountain lodge and enjoy the cool highland air. Spend the evening relaxing with a local dinner and prepare for an early start the next day. Optional: take a short walk to the viewpoint for a preview of the volcanic landscape at sunset.

Day 2: Sunrise at Mount Bromo – Savanna & Transfer to Ijen (B)

Wake before dawn for a jeep ride to Mount Penanjakan, the best viewpoint for sunrise over Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru. Watch the sky ignite in gold and pink as mist swirls through the caldera. After sunrise, descend to the Sea of Sand and hike or ride horseback to the Bromo crater rim. Feel the rumble of the earth beneath your feet as you peer into the smoking volcano. After breakfast, continue your journey eastward to Bondowoso or Banyuwangi, the gateway to Ijen. Check in to your hotel and rest up for another early morning trek.

Day 3: Ijen Crater Blue Flame Trek – Sulfur Mining Experience (B)

Depart around midnight for the Ijen Crater trek. Hike under the stars to reach the rim by 3 a.m., then descend into the crater to witness the mystical blue flames, a rare natural phenomenon caused by ignited sulfuric gas. As dawn breaks, marvel at the turquoise acidic lake, one of the largest in the world. Watch local miners carry heavy sulfur loads up steep paths - a humbling sight. After the trek, return to your hotel for breakfast and a well-earned rest. The afternoon is free for a massage, a village visit, or simply relaxing in nature.

Day 4: Local Culture & Departure (B)

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and explore the local area - visit a coffee plantation, stroll through a traditional market, or learn about Javanese crafts. Depending on your departure time, your guide will transfer you to Banyuwangi Airport, Surabaya, or even Bali by ferry.
