Tour Plan

1
Day 01: Arrival in Bangkok
Upon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to hotel for check-in and tour briefing.
2
Day 02: Bangkok (B, L)
We step into the Old Kingdom of Siam through the Grand Palace, a sprawling compound of ceremonial halls, gilded spires, and ornate buildings. The ancient city’s defining landmark since 1782, the palace became the centerpiece of a new Thai capital called Krung Thep (city of angels), known outside of Thailand as Bangkok. The focal point of the palace is the Emerald Buddha carved out of jade and adorned with gold. Continue to Wat Po – one of the oldest temples in Bangkok and home of the famous 45-meter reclining Buddha as well as the original school of traditional Thai massage. In the afternoon, we immerse in a world of exotic aromas and colors at the Flower Market of Pak Klong Talad. Experience a Tuk Tuk ride to Wat Trimit, home to the Golden Buddha, and then traverse the China Town to explore one of the most dynamic and vibrant commercial districts of Bangkok. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure.
3
Day 03: Bangkok-River Kwai-Kanchanaburi (B, L)
Today we depart Bangkok for the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi province. On arrival, visit the famous bridge built in 1943 as part of a wartime project intended to connect Thai and Burmese railways lines to support Japanese occupation of Burma. Next, pay a visit to the War Museum and Cemetery. Continue with a scenic boat ride from Mae Klong River to Kwai Noi and then Kwai Yai River. Following lunch at Pakseng Pier we sample a ride on the Death Railway Train through the lush forest. Head to Kanchanaburi where we stay overnight.
4
Day 04: Kanchanaburi – Ayutthaya – Phitsanulok (B, L)
Today we drive to Phitsanulok with stops en route to visit the former capital Ayuthaya, Saraburi and Lopuri. The principal sights are the gigantic bronze statues of Wat Mongkol Borpitr, the three ancient pagodas at Wat Phra Sri Sanpetch and Wat Pranangcherng, and the shrine of Phra Buddha Badh with the holy footprint of Lord Buddha, the Prang Sam Yod (Sacred Three Spires Pagoda), the ruins of Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha Dhat, and the Monkey Temple.
5
Day 05: Phitsanulok - Sukhothai (B, L)
Today we’ll tour from “Phra Sri Rattana Sasadaram”, one of the most beautiful Buddha images in Thailand, to Sukhothai Historical Park and to the site of the capital of the very first independent Thailand. Found in the 13th century, Sukhothai enjoyed a golden age under reign of King Ramkhamhaeng. The superb temples and monuments of this great city have been finely restored in the Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see for all travelers.
6
Day 06: Sukhothai – Lampang – Chiang Rai (B, L, D)
We journey overland to the ancient town of Sri Satchanalai, formerly "Muang Chaliang". The best known attraction of the town is the 91-hectare area within the old laterite ramparts and moats in the Historical Park. Travel on to Chiang Rai with a stop to admire Phra That Lampang Luang Temple in Lampang province.

Day 07: Chiang Rai – Mae Sai – Golden Triangle – Chiang Rai (B, L)
This morning we travel to the border with Myanmar. Visit Mae Sai market to see vibrant local commerce and seek for shopping opportunities. From a hill top, you can see the “Triangle” by the Mekong in joint with the Ruak River, where Thailand and Laos and Myanmar meet. We also visit the Hall of Opium (The bigger) for a look into the opium trade in old days.

Day 08: Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai – Hmong Hill Tribe Lodge (B, L, D)
Today we depart Chiang Rai for Chiang Mai where we’ll settle into the H'mong Hill Tribe Lodge. Here the rice fields meet the forest and live people from Thailand's second-largest minority group - the H'mong. Admire the embroidered aprons, colorful sashes and silver jewelry worn by many H'mong females, and gain a fascinating insight into local customs during a display of traditional song and dance.
