Tour Plan

1
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival we’ll be met and transferred to hotel for check-in and tour briefing. Time allowing, we take an orientation tour to acclimatize ourselves.
2
Day 2: Bangkok (B)
After breakfast we step into the Old Kingdom of Siam through the Grand Palace, a sprawling compound of ceremonial halls, gilded spires, and ornate buildings. The ancient city’s defining landmark since 1782, the palace became the centerpiece of a new Thai capital called Krung Thep (city of angels), known outside of Thailand as Bangkok. The focal point of the palace is the Emerald Buddha carved out of jade and adorned with gold. Continue to Wat Po – one of the oldest temples in Bangkok and home of the famous 45-meter reclining Buddha as well as the original school of traditional Thai massage. In the afternoon, we immerse in a world of exotic aromas and colors at the Flower Market of Pak Klong Talad. Experience a Tuk Tuk ride to Wat Trimit, home to the Golden Buddha. Traverse the China Town to explore one of the most dynamic and vibrant commercial districts of Bangkok. The remainder of the day will be at our own leisure.

Day 3: Bangkok (B, L)
We have two options today: Option 1: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Sampran Village Starting by 7:30, we drive southwards 110 km (for approximately 02 hours) to Rachaburi Province. Cruise past rural landscapes on our way to a long tail boat that will transport us on a thrilling journey through the famous Damnern Saduak floating market, amongst hundreds of other boat. Being the most popular in Thailand, Damnoen Saduak is great for photographing, tasting local food, and recalling a vanishing way of life. Experience shopping like a local as we navigate through a network of canals lined with traditional canoes topped with fruits, vegetables, sweets and meats. It’s possible to organize a ride on a local boat (at own expense) for a closer look. Next, we visit a handicrafts center where a plethora of local art works such as teakwood carvings, silk weavings, etc. can be seen.  Lunch will be served at the picturesque Sampran Culture Village. Afterwards we’ll watch the Thai village show that includes sample of Thai wedding, Monkhood Ordination Ceremony, Thai martial arts, ethnic minority dances, elephant at work, and so on. Return to Bangkok at the end of the day.   Option 2: Thakha Floating Market & Amphawa (Sat & Sun only) Starting by 7:30, we drive southwards 110 km (for approximately 02 hours) to Rachaburi Province. Our destination is Thakha, a hidden gem lying within 10 kilometers of their more famous sister, Damnoen Saduak. Thakha is smaller in scale but no less charming and definitely less touristy. Step back in time to see a traditional floating market, which originally took place only 6-7 times each month, depending on the phase of the moon. Enjoy the delightful display of exotic fruit and vegetables and local delicacies sold mostly by elderly women folk in their small rowing boats. Continue overland to Amphawa, a picturesque little town located on the Tha Chin River. We will first visit the Benjarong House and Museum, where you will have the opportunity to watch the skilled artisans painting the delicate china ware with intricate designs. After lunch at a local seafood restaurant, embark on a motorized long-tail boat to explore the numerous canals and observe traditional Thai way of living along the criss-crossing waterways. Visit Wat Bang Kung, built during the Ayudhaya period (more than 200 years ago). This temple is completely embraced by the roots of a huge Banyan Tree. Another stop will be made at a family’s home to observe the production of palm sugar.

Day 4: Excursion to Ayutthaya (B)
This morning we drive 90 km to Ayutthaya, the legendary Kingdom of Siam's former capital. A thriving trade and political capital of Siam for over 400 years, Ayutthaya is filled with palaces, temples and religious monuments of great historical and cultural significance – even in their ruined state. It is fair to say that no study of Thai architecture or art is complete without a trip to this once glorious capital, which gave birth to the unique U-Thong style. Stroll around the splendid Bang Pa-In Summer Palace and its landscaped gardens, peppered with curious buildings that blend turn-of- century European architectural styles with Thai and Chinese styles. From here, a long tail boat journey takes you up the Chao Phraya River to inner Ayutthaya, where you will explore the temple ruins within and surrounding the Ayutthaya Historical Park, taking in Wat Mongkol Borpith, Wat Phra Srisanpetch and Wat Yai Chai Mongkol. Visually rich and architecturally astounding, it is an excursion that inspires. It is also a veritable treasure-house for photographers. Return to Bangkok by boat on which lunch is provided.
