Bangkok - River Kwai

Experience Thais rural life and a charm of countryside at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and visit historical sites in Kanchanaburi including the Bridge over the River Kwai, Allied War Cemeteries.

Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok

You’ll receive cordial welcome upon arrival at Bangkok airport and be transferred to hotel for check-in and tour briefing.
Day 2: Bangkok Grand Palace & Temples (B)

Today we enjoy a full day tour of Bangkok. Step into the Old Kingdom of Siam at the Grand Palace of Thailand, a sprawling compound of ceremonial halls, gilded spires, and ornate buildings. The ancient city’s defining landmark since 1782, the palace became the centerpiece of a new Thai capital called Krung Thep (city of angels), known outside of Thailand as Bangkok. The focal point of the palace is the Emerald Buddha carved out of jade and adorned with gold. Continue to Wat Po – one of the oldest temples in Bangkok and home of the famous 45 meter reclining Buddha as well as the original school of traditional Thai massage. In the afternoon, we visit the Flower Market of Pak Klong Talad and immerse in a world of exotic aromas and colors. Try a Tuk Tuk ride to Wat Trimit, home to the Golden Buddha, and then traverse the China Town to explore one of the most dynamic and vibrant commercial districts in Bangkok. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure. You’re free to discover the various cuisines Bangkok offers at numerous outlets.
Day 3: Bangkok to Floating Market to River Kwai (B, L, D)

Starting by 7:30, we drive southwards 110 km (for approximately 02 hours) to Rachaburi Province. Hop on a boat and weave our way through hundreds of other boat to explore the floating market of Damnoen Saduak. Being the most popular in Thailand, Damnoen Saduak is great for photographing, local food tasting, and recalling a bygone way of life. Continue to Kanchanaburi to visit the War Cemetery, War Museum. After lunch, visit the River Kwai Bridge. Take a train ride along the Death Railway for an hour before journeying on to the pier and ride a speedboat upstream the River Kwai Noi to the hotel. Day 4: River Kwai - Bangkok (B)

You can opt to laze or stroll around the Mon village nearby this morning. Mon is a tribe that used to live in Myanmar and still maintain their own customs, law code, etc... Elephant riding is available and optional. We check out by 12:00 and depart by boat then transfer by road to a restaurant for lunch. Return to Bangkok with a stop en-route at Phra Pathom Chedi, one of the world’s tallest Buddhist monuments.
Day 5: Departure (B)

Free till transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
